OFFICE WITH A VIEW
Bestseller asked us to create an aesthetic canteen and a range of unique meeting rooms in their new office, which is situated in the centre of the waterfront in Aarhus. The office is in an awarded 22,000 sqm building designed by C. F. Møller Architects.
FROM CANTEEN TO RESTAURANT
‘Transform our future canteen area into an aesthetic experience with the atmosphere of a high-end restaurant’. This was the brief given to us by Bestseller.
The layout of the 1,000 sqm restaurant located at ground level was therefore carefully divided into 9 unique seating areas. All with an individual concept and detailing.
Consistent use of materials was applied to create the different areas: solid smoked oak, brass, leather and painted steel, which ensure a subtle transition and yet a clear link between areas.
ARTISTIC INSTALLATIONS
To emphasise the building’s waterfront location, we asked British artist Laura Ellen Bacon to create a weaved willow installation – a dynamic interpretation of the sea.
In addition to the installation being incredibly beautiful and sculptural in its expression, it also encircles one of the seating areas creating a cozy atmosphere and contributing positively to the acoustics in the large canteen area.

SEVEN UNIQUE MEETING ROOMS
Placed in the heart of the 22,000 sqm office building, seven differently sized meeting rooms are placed in a row. Looking like a bridge floating above a large atrium. The bridge-like hallway is connecting the five individual buildings.
MONOCHROMATIC THEMES
Bestseller requested flexible meeting rooms, that would work for formal meetings as well as dynamic sales events. We designed L-shaped benches, which made it possible to transform the layout to suit different meeting scenarios.
To give each room a unique atmosphere and at the same time link them to the concept, we designed the meeting rooms with monochromatic themes. Each room is having its own colour and only one type of textile has been used for the chairs back support, cushion upholstery as well as curtains. Custom dyed rugs complete the soft and private feel of the meeting rooms.
All meeting rooms feature a bespoke AV-frame containing a monitor and a glass whiteboard and a solid smoked oak L-shaped bench that functions as a display shelf and an upholstered back support/board shelf.
CUSTOM-MADE FURNITURE
For this unique project, we designed and developed several custom-made furniture and fixtures. Including different types of tables, shelves, benches, room dividers, AV-frames etc.
Most of the furniture was produced at our own joiner’s workshop, RIIS Snedkerier, by our experienced cabinet makers.
